Formats
These are the various formats used during the weekly Wednesday morning matches. Check the calendar for this week’s format.
Team Quota -Teams consisting of an A,B,C and a D player compete on a total points basis. Play is 100% handicapped but with a maximum handicap of 32 ( 32 handicap and higher players must make 4 points). Points awarded as follows: Eagle = 8 points, Birdie = 4, Par = 2, Bogie = 1, Others = 0.
Individual Quota – Individuals compete against each other in their own flights.
“A” players play together; “B” players play together and so forth.
This format is used to determine flight winners for the Memorial Trophy playoff.
Scoring is the same as in Team Quota.
Individual Net Score – Individuals compete against each other in their own flights
as in Individual Quota. Scoring is done by subtracting each player’s handicap from
his actual score. 100% handicap but the maximum strokes to be taken on any hole
is what is allowed by the Equitable Stroke chart.
Two Best Balls – Teams will compete on a total score basis with only the two lowest
net scores based on each players handicap counting on each hole. Maximum handicap
allowed is 32.
Team Net Score – Teams compete on a total net score basis. Scoring is done by
subtracting the handicaps of all four players from the actual scores of all four players.
100% handicap. SEE INDIVIDUAL NET SCORE above for scoring
instructions.
Bramble – All players on the team tee off and then decide which drive is best. From
that spot each player using his own ball places it within one club length of where that
ball lay but no closer to the hole and in the same condition as the selected ball and each
player plays out his on ball. Players get strokes based on their handicap with a
maximum handicap of 32 allowed.
IN ADDITION THE ABOVE FORMATS WILL ON OCCASION BE PLAYED IN ONE OR BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:
AB/CD – A and B players will make up teams in one flight; C and D players will make up teams in a second flight with winners in both flights.
MAKE UP YOUR OWN TEAM– any four members can sign up as a team to play that week together. Those not making up teams will be assigned to teams in the normal manner.
