You will also need a GHIN handicap. In previous years, you got this from the Captains Pro Shop but now all handicaps are being issued by MassGolf.  Here is a direct link for you to renew your handicap.

If you have one from another club, that works too.  Just include your GHIN number on the application.

Effective 7/23/2025, everyone was assigned a Flight for the Memorial Cup based on their
handicap. On 9/3/2025, the top 8 players in each Flight will qualify for Match Play. In the event
of a tie the individual who won the largest amount of money in the most recent event will be
determined as the qualifier.

Note: we are updating the Money list weekly so you will know where you stand and can plan
accordingly.

An Entry Fee of $25.00 per person will be paid on 9/3. These monies will be used to create a
Memorial Cup winners pool of $800.

Matches will be Best Ball Net based on the Individual’s Handicap the day of the match.
Scheduling Matches: All Qualifiers should be available to play matches on 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, and
9/24 unless eliminated. If you cannot commit to these dates, we ask that you opt out and give
your spot to the next highest qualifier prior to the beginning of the Marches. All Matches should
be played in the block time of the regular CCMGA Event.

If for an unforeseen reason a player winning his 9/3 event is not available during any following
Wednesday event, if the 2 players agree, they may opt to play their match prior to the following
Sunday. This will allow time for the Coordinators to schedule the next game. If a date cannot be
agreed upon to play the match, the individual who was available on Wednesday wins by forfeit.
If there is a weather cancellation on a Wednesday, the 2 players should play their match prior to
the following Sunday. If any 2 players cannot agree upon a date, then the Board will conduct a
coin toss to determine the winner. This will serve as an incentive to agree on a date.

After 3 weeks of match play within your Flight, the 4 Flight winners will square off in a medal
play (Net) game to determine the overall Memorial Cup winner.

In the event of a tie in the medal play finals a match of cards will be made as follows:
By comparing net scores on the last nine holes, then the last six, then the last three,
and finally the 18th hole. If a tie persists, the process is repeated for the front nine.

The Payouts will be as follows:

Freeman’s Grill is currently shutdown because the Town of Brewster has been unable to get the air conditioning fixed. On Saturday when the A/C broke, the temperature in the kitchen was 127 degrees!

So, we are forced to reschedule for August 18th.
We are going to automatically going to cancel everyone from the old date. So, if you signed up for the original date, then you need to sign up again for the new date.

The CCMGA is excited to host a mid-season social event. This is an opportunity for you to meet many of your fellow members off the fairway. Of course, we decided to include a little competition where you could be crowned the CCMGA Putting Champ.

Lots of fun and a relaxed competition from almost 60 members and guests that signed up.

The Freemans Grill food was excellent, as always.  Progression Brewery, Hog Island Beer Company and 44 North Vodka also provided complimentary tastings for the crowd. Big Thanks!

After a fun qualification round and an exciting final, our 1^st CCMGA Putting Champion, Ken Eisner emerged on top with a putt to 1 foot 1 inch.  Ron Regan, Jeff Barber and Rob Harris were the other three winners – all with putts inside 4 feet from a LONG way away – all using a vintage putter.

Freemans Grill also provided four $25 gift certificates as door prizes!

We are hoping to hold more events later in the season and look forward to the Memorial Trophy Final Day Shotgun on September 29th.

Thanks to Sean and the guys at Freemans Grill, Paul Shorthose/Gary Senecal and the rest of CCMGA Board for organizing a fun event.

The Select Board voted 4-0 to honor the tee time allocation formula.  The percentage of member tee times will be increased to 35.8%.  This is slightly lower than the previous percentage because the $100,000 of capital improvements that was in in the budgeted golf course expenses was not included in the previous calculation as it should have been.

Thank you to everyone that wrote to the Select Board, distributed or signed petitions.  The collective efforts of the CCMGA and the membership was instrumental in getting the additional tee times that the increased membership deserved.
